East West is a visual response to the experience of visiting one of the most inspiring cultural centers in the world. As a westerner, walking through Istanbul is like having one foot in the familiar and the other in the remarkable. Looking east across the Bosporus Strait from the west (and from a western perspective) is an extraordinary experience. Side-by-side contrasting cultures teach us about the value of diversity while reminding us we are not as different as we have been taught to believe. Our view of the world, from where we sit, is not the world, it is simply our view of the world from where we sit.
